Performance Characteristics of Oil-immersed Power Transformers
a. For the low-voltage windings of oil-immersed transformers, copper conductors are only adopted for small-capacity units; most of them adopt a cylindrical structure wound with copper foil. The high-voltage windings adopt a multi-layer cylindrical structure, which ensures balanced ampere-turn distribution of the windings, low magnetic leakage, high mechanical strength, and strong short-circuit resistance.
b. Both the iron core and windings are separately secured with fastening measures. All fastening parts such as the high and low-voltage leads of the transformer body are equipped with self-locking locknuts. The transformer adopts a non-core-lifting structure, enabling it to withstand jolts and vibrations during transportation.
c. The coils and iron core undergo vacuum drying, and the transformer oil is processed through vacuum oil filtration and vacuum oil filling techniques, minimizing the moisture inside the transformer.
d. The oil tank is equipped with corrugated fins, which have a breathing function to compensate for the oil volume changes caused by temperature fluctuations. Therefore, this product does not require an oil conservator, which obviously reduces the overall height of the transformer.
e. Since the corrugated fins replace the oil conservator, the transformer oil is isolated from the outside air. This effectively prevents the ingress of oxygen and moisture, which would otherwise lead to the degradation of insulation performance.
f. Based on the above five performance features, it is ensured that the oil-immersed transformer does not require oil replacement during normal operation, which greatly reduces the maintenance cost of the transformer and extends its service life at the same time.
